We LOVE Dr. Seuss in our house! We love the rhymes, the silliness, and the oddness of it all. We started collecting books when we first learned I was expecting with our Honey-girl. Now, at age 6 she shares my love for the tongue twisting fun that each story brings. Along with all the words that make a perfect amount of no sense at all.
Today, on March 2nd, the country celebrates the delightful stories Dr. Seuss has left us. What other way can you celebrate this great author than to read! And another great reason to bring you one of our favorite things… DR. SEUSS BOOKS!
Which is why today has been dubbed National Read Across America Day.
So I asked Honey Girl what her favorite Dr. Seuss book was and this is what she had to say…
I so longed for a way to ease into our day. My kids are up and ready to go the moment their eyes open. Me not so much. I was struggling to find a way to fit extra things into our day. Enter “Family Time”. It sounded wonderful and I loved how it can be done at any time of day, with any age of kids, and with the whole family. While I like the idea of Family Time, (Family time, morning time, circle time, you’ve probably heard it called by many different names) I really didn’t know how I was going to incorporate it into our day with a toddler. Or at all really. Despite my apprehensions we gave it a go and its been WONDERFUL! Whether you’re a home-school, private school, or public school family this is something you’ve got to try! It’s amazing how time flies. I started my first blog 4 years ago. Throughout the years God has been faithful and brought our family through so much while drawing us closer to him. After one really hard season, I noticed that this verse always comes back to me. Always has a way of “showing up” in my life. So when I decided to share my thoughts and ramblings with you, I couldn’t think of any other name for my corner of the internet world… Counting Joys. Here’s why. Continue Reading
I do love to paint with my littles BUT lets face it, painting with a two year old isn’t exactly the most stress or mess free thing in the world. So when a friend recommended these I just had to try them out. They quickly became a favorite and a month later we are still enjoying them and that’s why I decided they would be perfect for one E-man’s favorite things! Continue Reading
Have you ever tasted honey? I mean straight from that little bear jar? My kids eat it right on bread. Just honey and bread. I’ve been given a spoonful of honey for a cough and almost couldn’t keep it down. It was just SO sweet I could hardly stand it. But I swallowed it. Why? Because it was good for me.
One of my favorite Christmas songs has always been “Mary did you know?” I love Mary’s heart. Her willingness to serve God could have cost her everything. Her family, her fiance, her name, maybe even her life during that period in time. She still said yes. I have to wonder did she really truly know what she was saying yes to? Continue Reading
It was a year ago in February that I attended a woman’s conference. I was excited and nervous (cuz introvert remember). I walked in so unsure. I came out clinging to a small domino with two simple words written on it. “Be bold”.
Whether you are just starting out with cloth diapers or thinking about cloth diapering, you have probably been searching the internet for everything you’ll need to be successful. The choices between prefolds, AIO’S, Pockets and other kinds of cloth diapers go on and on. It’s enough to make your head spin. But what else are you going to need? I asked my cloth diapering friends what their must haves were. I wasn’t shocked that we pretty much all had the same list. So here’s a list of 5 things I refuse to live without. No matter what kind of cloth you went with, these items are sure to make your life easier!
Every year it’s the same dilemma. What do we get them for Christmas? It seems that we spend so much time and money on Christmas for our kids to pick out one thing to play with and then proceed to play with only that thing… forever. Until I get fed up with all the stuff laying around and decide all toys need to be sold or donated. All of a sudden the kids love whatever I’m tossing out. Continue Reading
