Chacos: Friday’s Little Thing, Big Joy

Standard

Chacos first entered my world in the summer of 2003.  I was preparing to be a camp counselor, and it seemed like the perfect shoe for a person like me who loves to hike, but avoids wearing socks & tennis shoes at all costs.

I was right, they were the perfect shoes for me!  For the past 9 years, I’ve worn them as much as possible.  And once I heard about ReChaco- a group that repairs used Chacos, I knew that my pair wanted to take a vacation!  Last week, I sent these in.  And a couple days later, I got a call saying that they were too worn out to be repaired!  I didn’t even think that was possible!

Therefore, I did the only thing that I could to resolve my little problem.  I bought a new pair!

Now I’m ready to wear my new Chacos everyday from now until the first day of winter!

I love having the comfort of a tennis shoe with the freedom of sandals!
I love slipping my feet into the straps and being ready for a walk through the neighborhood, a hike in the woods, or anything else for that matter.
I love the strap around my big toe, the zig-zap over my foot, the strap around my heel, and the easy-to-pull harness.
They all keep the durable sandal comfy, snug, and secure!
And I think that it’s pretty amazing that it’s only one strap that’s woven through the soul!
I will say, it takes a few days to “break them in”.  Actually it’s the feet that have to get adjusted.  When I start with a new pair, my feet get a couple sore spots, until they toughen up a bit.  But it’s definitely worth it!

I love wearing my Chacos!  I get that bubbly joyful feeling when I put them on, or look down during the day to see them strapped on my feet!

joy: Starting in April, these will be my designated “3rd trimester shoes”!
